County fairs are a staple for a Northeast Wisconsin Summer, and when the end of August approaches and just before the kids are packing their bags to head back to school there is always the Manitowoc County Fair for a little more enjoyment and entertainment.
Like most county fairs there is plenty to see and do. From livestock shows to a demolition derby and tractor pull, the day and evening schedules are full. For 2009, the big attractions include the chainsaw sculpture show by the LogHoggers and a headliner concert by country star Darryl Worley.
This year’s fair takes place from Aug. 25 to Aug. 30 at the Manitowoc County Expo Center located just a half-mile from Interstate 43. Daily admission ranges from $4 for seniors to $25 for the entire week.
With opening day just around the corner it you still have plenty of time to plan a day or two at the fair grounds before putting a cap on the summer. There is a lot to see and do, so check out the fair schedule and pick the days will be perfect for you. If you’re unsure about staying the night, RTownShopper can cut your lodging expense in half at the Super 8 right in the city of Manitowoc. Otherwise the fairways and greens are always beautiful at the Fox Hills Resort where the savings you’ll get can be used for games and rides at the fair.
